Senior Men's Morning Out - Fridays, 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. in the Senior Room, Community Center, 7th & Lippincott Lane

Beginning August 6, Men's Morning Out will be held every Friday morning with coffee, donuts, cards, puzzles and conversation.  This activity is open to all Haddon Heights senior men.

Senior Ladies Needleworks - Wednesdays, 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. in the Senior Room, Community Center, 7th & Lippincott Lane

Beginning August 4th, Ladies' Needleworks will be held every Wednesday afternoon.  Bring your quilting, knitting, crewel or sewing project for encouragement, conversation and cookies and tea.  All Haddon Heights senior women are welcome to join in.

Wii Bowling for Seniors, Wednesdays from 11:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m. at the Haddon Heights Library

The Library hosts Wii Bowling for senior citizens throughout the year.  Bowling takes place every other Wednesday from 11-1:00 p.m.  Wii bowling is an interactive motion-controlled bowling game played on our 144 inch screen.  For more information, please call 547-7132.

Make A Splash, Read!  Summer Reading Program Returns to the Library

Stop by the Library anytime after June 14th to pick up your reading logs and to regiister.  You will also be able to register from our website at www.haddonheightslibrary.com.  The Program runs through August 16th.  Call the Library at 547-7132 for more information.

Summer Movies for Kids Returns to the Library, Tuesdays thru August 17th

Lights! Camera! Action!  The popular Summer Movie Series returns to the Library every Tuesday during the summer.  G-rated movies will be shown at 11:30 a.m. and PG-rated movies will be shown at 6:45 p.m.  These FREE movies are shown on our BIG screen and all are welcome!  Bring your popcorn and sodas and enjoy great movies in the air-conditioned Library!  A schedule of movies will be available in the Library in June.  Call 547-7132 for more information.

Haddon Glen Swim Club, Overnight Camp Out, July 31st, Set-up Begins at 4:00 p.m.

This extemely popular event includes games for kids, pizza and soft drinks for dinner, as well as coffee, donuts and juice for breakfast.  Set up begins at 4 p.m.  The Pool will stay open until 10 p.m. that evening.  The fee is $25 per family.  Please sign up at the checkers' stand the week of this event.

Haddon Heights National Night Out, August 3rd

We will once again participate in the 27th Annual National Night Out which is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch to increase neighborhood unity, awareness, safety and police-community partnerships.  Residents are encouraged to turn off their televisions and go outside and get to know their neighbors.  Some ideas include impromptu porch parties, block parties, cook-outs, ice cream socials, watermelon parties, lemonade stands, flashlight walks and stargazing events.

Senior Community Table, August 3rd, 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., Kunkel's Restaurant

Retired?  Free for lunch?  Hadon Heights Senior Citizens have been meeting at a Community Table in our local restaurants for a year now!  What's a Community Table?  A Community Table is a long table where people come for lunch, sit together, order from the regular menu, pay their own bill and socialize with new and old friends.  Join us anytime between 11:30 and 1:30 p.m.

Circolo Italiano Program, September 13th, 8:00 p.m. at Borough Hall, Auditorium.

Richard DiBlassio, an accordion player, is a graduate of Temple University, where he earned his Doctor of Musical Arts degree.  He began his career as a music teacher, later as an arts supervisor, school prinicipal and eventually promoted into district manager of the Creative and Performing Arts Department.  His program will consist of Italian music, big band songs, pokas, story-telling songs, audience participation songs, Sinatra favorites and more.  He is a very accomplished musician; his performance promises to be extemely entertaining!!

Revolutionary War Encampment in Haddon Heights, October 9th, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

SAVE THE DATE!  The Borough of Haddon Heights Events Committee will sponsor a Revolutionary War Encampment on Saturday, October 9th, rain or shine, in the Camden County Park across from the Hinchman Hurley House on North Park Drive.  The 43rd of Foot British soldiers and the Second Pennsylvania Regiment which served with General Anthony Wayne re-enactors will establish 'camp' at 10 a.m. which will consist of a cook tent and 'fly,' a dining fly, a wall tent and several smaller 'wedge' tents.  During the course of the day, the infantry and artillery will drill, the fife and drum will practice and the ladies will conduct the various chores of an 18th Century camp follower.  The units will perform at least three narrated firing demonstrations which include a description of the 18th Century sokldier's life, uniform and tactics.  Councilwoman, Rose Ritzgerald will highlight Haddon Heights' involvement during a 'Revolutionary War Haddon Heights' Walking Tour at 2:00 starting at the campsite.  The soldiers will break down at 4:00 p.m.
