Assessments & Inspectors

The New Jersey Law requires that the Tax Assessor’s Office keep all property assessments current.

Assessor's Inspectors

The Assessor’s inspector may visit your property if the property owner or their contractor obtained a building permit to build a new building, update, improve, expand, remodel, redecorate, rehab, and/or demolish all or part of an existing building located in Haddon Heights.

Please cooperate with the Assessor’s inspector(s) who will perform an interior and exterior examination of your home or business. The inspector may request information to confirm the following:

  • Type of work done or to be done
  • Cost of the project
  • Date of the job completion

This inspection is completed in addition to any inspection(s) required by the Haddon Heights Building Inspection Department before October 1.  The inspector will visit your property unannounced in the day, early evening, or on a Saturday.  This method of inspection is very cost-effective and we greatly appreciate your help allowing the inspector to collect the data required.  The inspectors who work for the Tax Assessor’s office are Judith Shoemaker (Judi), Jeffrey Scott Pierson (Scott), and Tom Colavecchio.  Each inspector WILL WEAR AN OFFICIAL HADDON HEIGHTS BOROUGH ID BADGE with their name and photo on it.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call the Tax Assessor’s Office at (856) 547-7164, Ext. 33.  Thank you for your anticipated cooperation with this inspection process.
